Prague’s Swimming Pools

Prague offers a wide variety of entertainment such as shopping, international cuisine, or interesting places to visit. During summer every tourist also dreams of visiting cool and refreshing places, such as public swimming pools. Fortunately for the citizens of Prague and visitors of the city, there are both outdoor summer pools as well as large swimming complexes with a roof.

 1) Koupaliště Divoká Šárka

There are two separate 30-meter swimming pools on the territory of the nature reserve. This is a stunning place for a walk along the hills which can be completed with a swim in the lake. The pool is filled up by water from a nearby mountain stream. Therefore, early in the morning and in cold weather, the water is rather cold. It is a very popular place as most people prefer to swim in the Džbán reservoir located within walking distance. If you want to swim in clear water, surrounded by majestic nature, then there is no better place. The adjacent territory is covered by a lawn. In the area, there are also: “paddling pool” for children, playgrounds, showers, changing rooms, toilets, buffets, table tennis, rental of sports equipment.

2) Koupaliště Klánovice

The pool is located in one of the most picturesque areas of Prague. It offers a 25-meter pool 3.5 meters deep for adults and a 15-meters children’s pool up, which is up to 1.5 meters deep. Here you can find also a grassy beach, changing room, showers, two springboards, buffet, sun lounger rental, table tennis tables, mini-golf, beach volleyball, playground.

3) Plavecký stadion SK Slavia

Here you can find three outdoor pools: one is for adults (length – 50 meters, maximum depth – 3 meters) and two others are children (length – 12 and 7 meters, depth – 0.8 meters). There are changing rooms and showers are available in the building. 4) Podolí Swimming Stadium

This modern swimming stadium has two outdoor pools at once. They are suitable for training both professional athletes and amateurs. The first pool is 50 x 21 m with a depth of 3 m. The other is 33 x 21 m wide with a depth of 5 meters and is equipped with heated water. This place is located in a picturesque location at the foot of a steep cliff.

A grassy beach is organized on the territory adjacent to the pool. It offers its visitors services, such as changing rooms, showers, toilets, children’s pools with water slides, sauna, massage, buffet, and parking. On the official website, you can see the current attendance of the pool. The Podolí water stadium is considered one of the best in the whole Czech Republic.

5) Sports and recreation centre Pražačka

It is a modern swimming pool with heated water and excellent views of Prague. It’s 26 x 14.5 meters wide with a depth of up to 1.6 meters. Also, there is a terrace next to the pool, where you can find bars, tables,  umbrellas to hide from the sun to relax and snack and beverages. The pool is a part of the sports and recreation complex, which includes football, volleyball, basketball courts, tennis courts, a gym, sauna, and much more.
