Being a foreigner in a new country always takes time to accommodate to a new place and circumstances. Anyway, the most important to feel like at home are people who are around you. That’s why MeetUps are the best solution for those, who are seeking for some new friends. You can get to know each other, find international accompany and just spent a great time talking, drinking and enjoying Prague’s bars or restaurants. It’s a great opportunity especially for those, who doesn’t know many people at the beginning of their adventure in Prague!
June MeetUp has been organized, like always, by Foreigners.cz and Prague.tv, and this time it took place at Expats BBQ Bar on Oldřichova street (Prague 2) – a bar, which is well-known for the best burgers in town. From 6.00 pm, the first participants started to appear and enjoy the beer with burgers, fried chicken wings and ribs, for a special price until 7.00 pm. Around 8.00 pm it started to be crowded and Expats BBQ Bar looked like a place where some old best friends have met after long time of not seeing each other.
Although nobody had a problem to break the ice and start to talk, we’ve prepared some Icebreaker game with a prize, to allow people to get to know those who were sitting a little bit further than around the same table. The wrapped prize (parcel) was going around all participants and the music was on. When the music stopped, the person who carried the prize had to pick a question and answer on it. The questions were different, from those about the place where you want to live in your life, through the best experience from last weekend, to such a simple one like “What’s your favorite color?”. The person who answered the last question – got the prize. After the game, people carried on with their conversations and later on, due to wonderful weather outside, almost everyone moved to the Expats’ garden, however, some still stayed inside to play table football.
No matter if the people had been there for the first time or have experienced the atmosphere of Foreigners.cz MeetUps already, everyone was enjoying the place and each others company.
The conclusion can be only one: use the opportunities which Prague is giving you during this summer. Come to the next MeetUp and take your friends with you!
