Warmer weather, awakening nature, and longer days are attracting guests to the spa towns. The well-known spa triangle: Carlsbad, Františkovy Lázně and Mariánské Lázně is preparing for the new spa season. In May, on different weekends you can visit the spa opening ceremonies and celebrations.
CARLSBAD – May, 2nd – 4th
Carlsbad is going to welcome the first guests of the new spa season during the first weekend of May. The city has prepared a rich and extensive programme. You can experience the spectacular celebrations of the 668th spa season. The key events of the weekend include Blessing of the Springs, Charles IV Procession (featuring a parade, dancers, and musicians) and other historical performances.
The historical events won’t be the only attractions during the weekend. There will be many concerts of different types of music such as film music, dixieland, performances by Martina Pártlová or Roman Vojtek. The city will also host a crafts market, interactive workshops for children, and the Beer & Grill Festival at Hotel Thermal, offering local brews and grilled specialties.

FRANTIŠKOVY LÁZNĚ – May, 17th
The ceremonial opening of the 232nd Spa Season in Františkovy Lázně will take place on Saturday, May 17th, 2025. This traditional event will bring together both locals and visitors to celebrate the start of a new season of health treatments and relaxation.
On the opening day the springs will be blessed and the spa season will be started. Throughout the day, visitors can enjoy musical performances, juggling acts, majorette shows, and live cooking demonstrations. There will also be presentations of healing treatments, a market offering local and craft products, and a special programme for children.
MARIÁNSKÉ LÁZNĚ – May, 9th – 11th
As every year, the second weekend in May belongs to the opening spa season ceremony in Mariánské Lázně. This year the opening celeberations will remind us the 160th anniversary of promoting Mariánské Lázně to a city.
The festivities will begin on Friday with a concert of the West Bohemia Symphony Orchestra Marianske Lazne. On Saturday the main programme will take place: blessing of the springs, holy mass, cultural and musical performances. The celebrations will conclude on Sunday in the Municipal Theatre with different performances.
KONSTANTINOVY LÁZNĚ – May, 16th – 18th
Konstantinovy lázně is a small spa town with a great history. This year, the town will celebrate the opening of its 222nd spa season. The celebrations will start on Friday, May 16th, with a photo exhibition ‚Portugal 2024‘ and continue on Saturday with spring blessing, bijouterie parade, fire show and concerts.
