Travel in Prague’s city center will become more complicated, as a key stretch of tram track will be closed temporarily. Due to tram track renovations at the intersection of Lazarská and Spálená streets, tram service will be suspended in both directions in the Lazarská – Jindřišská track section from Thursday, Oct. 18, at 4:30 am to Monday, Oct. 29, at 4:30 am.
Being a central station a lot of lines will be affected mainly the night time ones that go across the center of Wenceslas Square.
To avoid such issues and interruption the Prague Public Transit company recommends that people use the metro whenever is possible, but always keeping in mind that the Karlovo náměstí tram station is also closed.
Many trams will have route changes, and the temporary daytime line 39 and nighttime lines 65 and 68 will be put into service.

This includes the tracks across the center of Wenceslas Square. Since Lazarská is the central transfer point for night trams, those in particular will be affected. The central transfer point for night tram lines will be at the stops Karlovo náměstí and Novoměstská radnice.

So what to do to still commute in this part of the city at a fast pace?
Here is the list of affected daytime lines and their detour!
Line no. 3 is, in the direction from Levského, from the Lazarská stop, diverted via the stops Národní třída, Újezd, Anděl and Kotlářka to the Sídliště Řepy turning loop.
Line no. 5 is routed on the route Sídliště Barrandov – Jiráskovo náměstí – Národní divadlo – Národní třída – Lazarská (in Spálená Street) – Myslíkova – Sídliště Barrandov.
Line no. 6 is, in the direction from Palmovka, from the Masarykovo nádraží stop, diverted via the stops Hlavní nádraží, Olšanské náměstí, Flora, Želivského and Depo Hostivař to the Ústřední dílny DP turning loop.
Line no. 9 is, in the direction from Sídliště Řepy, from the Lazarská stop, diverted via the stops Karlovo náměstí, I. P. Pavlova, Otakarova and Koh-i-noor to the Kubánské náměstí turning loop.
Line no. 14 is, in the Lazarská – Bílá labuť section, diverted via the stops Národní třída, Staroměstská, Čechův most and Náměstí Republiky.
Line no. 24 is routed on the route Kubánské náměstí – Albertov – Výtoň – Palackého náměstí – Jiráskovo náměstí – Myslíkova – Karlovo náměstí – Kubánské náměstí.
Historical tram line no. 41 is, in the Lazarská – Strossmayerovo náměstí section, diverted via the stops Karlovo náměstí, Palackého náměstí, Jiráskovo náměstí, Národní divadlo, Staroměstská, Právnická fakulta and Čechův most.
Lines no. 91, 94 and 96 are, in the Lazarská – Strossmayerovo náměstí section, diverted via the stops Národní třída, Staroměstská and Čechův most.
Line no. 92 is, in the Lazarská – Bílá labuť section, diverted via the stops Národní třída, Staroměstská, Čechův most and Náměstí Republiky.
Line no. 95 is, in the direction from Ústřední dílny DP, shortened to the Novoměstská radnice stop – the line continues further as line no. 98 in the direction to Sídliště Řepy.
Line no. 98 is, in the direction from Sídliště Řepy, from the Lazarská stop, diverted to the Karlovo náměstí stop – the line continues further as line no. 95 in the direction to Ústřední dílny DP.
The daytime line no. 39 will be established on the route Spojovací – Ohrada – Olšanská – Hlavní nádraží – Masarykovo nádraží – Bílá labuť – Florenc – Palmovka – Kobylisy (selected connections are operated only on the route Spojovací – Bílá labuť).
But what if you find yourself in this part of the city at night? No problem if you follow these lines!
For night operation the following lines are established: line no. 65 on the route Vozovna Kobylisy – Kobylisy – Palmovka – Olšanská – Hlavní nádraží – Náměstí Republiky – Strossmayerovo náměstí – Letenské náměstí – Špejchar and line no. 68 on the route Spojovací – Ohrada – Želivského – Flora – Hlavní nádraží – Náměstí Republiky – Strossmayerovo náměstí – Výstaviště Holešovice.
New tram stops are established in both directions: Lazarská, in Spálená Street, at night tram stop, and Dlážděná, in Dlážděná Street, at the intersection with Senovážné náměstí.
Replacement bus line no. X92 for night operation are established on the route Florenc – Masarykovo nádraží – Jindřišská – Václavské náměstí – Karlovo náměstí.
Between the stops Hlavní nádraží and Masarykovo nádraží, the Dlážděná stop is established in Dlážděná Street at the temporarily established tram stop for night bus lines no. 905 and 911 in the direction to Vltavská, 907 in the direction to Hradčanská and 908 in the direction to Florenc.
