Festivals:
Rock for People (June 12-15, Hradec Králové)
Rock for People, which takes place in Hradec Králové from June 12 to June 15, will continue the festival season. Avril Lavigne, Bring Me The Horizon, and The Offspring are the prominent names in the world music scene in 2024.
Metronome Prague (June 20-22, Prague)
On June 20–22, Metronome Prague will return in full force. The event wants to draw in viewers of all ages and musical tastes. He wagers on the latest developments in progressive music, but he also pays attention to the timeless classics across a range of genres. Milky Chance, a German duet, will be bringing their mesmerizing groove. Additionally, the band Kosheen will play! This year marks the 25th anniversary of this British electronic music icon’s birth. Following a lengthy tour of the UK and Australia, they will return to Prague for a grandiose birthday celebration.
Mighty Sounds (June 28-30, Tábor)
Every year in Tábor, there is a unique three-day music event called Mighty Sounds. It will happen between June 28 and 30, 2024. Mighty mostly performs music in the following genres: hardcore, indie rock, rockabilly, punk rock, ska, reggae, rockabilly, and rock’n’roll. Over 130 artists participate in the program each year, playing on four live stages and four DJ stages. The festival contains a theater inside a theater tent as is customary, and every year the lineup of other events grows in an intriguing way. Examples of these events include a football competition, netball, U-ramp, graffiti, and more.
Colours of Ostrava (July 17-20, Ostrava)
From July 17 to 20, the festival called Colors of Ostrava will be held in the distinctive industrial district of Dolní Vítkovice in Ostrava. More than 350 program points will be available across multiple stages of the event, which will include talks in the Meltingpot international forum, theaters, workshops, films, art installations, and other related activities in addition to performances by over 100 local and international bands. The customarily extensive supporting program, which includes theaters, seminars, movies, and art installations, will return. Sam Smith will take part in the 2024 Colors of Ostrava festival. The transgender artist Kim Petras is expected to put on a stunning performance alongside the British vocalist as they release their most recent album Gloria. Lenny Kravitz, the man behind the legendary hits, will also be welcomed to Colors of Ostrava. His music, which combines elements of rock, funk, soul, and rhythm and blues, has garnered him millions of admirers.
Moravian Castle CZ (July 12-August 31)
One of the biggest social and cultural gatherings in the Czech Republic is the CZ Castles Festival. Every festival has its location close to a cultural landmark. Tours of the castle’s ongoing exhibits are thus included in the cost of the Saturday ticket. The well-liked festival series will return in 2024, running from July 12 to August 31. The event begins on July 12 and 13 at Točník, proceeds to Kunětická hora on July 19 and 20, goes to Švihov Castle on July 26 and 27, and finally ends on August 2 and 3 at Rožmberk Castle on the Vltava River. There will be music in Veveří Castle on August 9 and 10, and in Hradec nad Moravicí on August 16 and 17. August 23 and 24 will mark the penultimate stop of the festival at Bouzov Castle, and August 30 and 31 at Bezděz will host the final concerts. The band Lucie will play at the festival, according to one of the early announcements from the organizers. Additionally, visitors can anticipate Chinaski, Daniel Landa, or Mig 21.
TurnOFF Festival (August 22-25)
The TrutnOFF music festival is scheduled for August 22–25, which is the customary date of the Soviet Union’s 1968 annexation of Czechoslovakia. He returned to his traditional hunting grounds, behind the mountains on the Trutnov Battlefield, last year, after seven years of exile in Brno. There are more than sixty bands playing various kinds of music. The 40th anniversary of the inaugural attempt at an autonomous festival will be commemorated in Trutnoff.
Poděbrady International Film Festival (August 28 – September 1, Poděbrady)
One of the final summer music festivals, the International Film Music and Multimedia Festival Soundtrack Poděbrady 2024, will also be held in Poděbrady from August 28 to September 1. Amidst the thriving ancillary offerings in Central Spa Park, guests may anticipate musical performances, visual displays, kid-friendly events, and much more. The Soundtrack Festival’s complete schedule will be held outside. There will be a free, engaging companion program available to all guests at the Central Spa Park.
