Christmas tree at Prague’s Old Town Square will be lit up in the early morning hours instead of an official lighting ceremony, which always took place in the evening. This decision has been made by Prague’s authorities to prevent the risk of panic among the crowd. Every year Christmas tree lighting ceremony attracted thousands of people from all around the Czech Republic, so the authorities’ action is understandable, although, nobody quite agrees with it. Prague’s citizens will still have a chance to enjoy the Christmas tree and the Christmas market at the Old Town Square. No matter what, none of the officials can prevent us from lighting up a Christmas tree in our own living rooms 🙂
