Prague’s Tram Network Will Undergo a Change

Residents of Prague should prepare for a significant change in the tram network. From the 28th of August 9 established tram routes in Prague will undergo a change, also 3 new tram routes will be launched. Project of tram network improvement, proposed by Prague transportation company Ropid, had been previously approved by city authorities.

The changes will not affect the following routes: 1, 3, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 13, 16, 17, 22, 26.

The following trams’ routes will be changed: 4, 5, 6, 12, 14, 18, 20, 24 and 25.

Also, three new tram lines will be introduced to Prague residents: 2, 15 and 21.

Trams will be running more frequently on the following routes:

  • Karlovo náměstí – I. P. Pavlova (covered by tram 6)
  • Hlavní nádraží – Husinecká – Olšanské náměstí (trams 5, 9 and 26 plus new tram line 15)
  • Letenské náměstí – Vltavská – Pražská tržnice (trams 1 and 25 plus new tram line 12)
  • Spořilov – Náměstí Bratří Synků – Albertov – Karlovo náměstí (instead of tram line 6 which was covering this route with solo cars only in work days between 6 a.m. and 8 p.m. tram line 14 will be operating this route during all week)
  • Palmovka – Nádraží Vysočany (tram line 14 will be added to tram 16)
  • Karlín – Náměstí Republiky – Letná (tram 8 will cover this route newly on weekends)
  • Anděl – Kotlářka (tram line 4 will be replaced with trams 15 and 21)

Residents of Prague should be looking forward to direct connection between the following stops:

  • I. P. Pavlova – Bruselská – Otakarova – Nádraží Vršovice (line 6)
  • Náměstí Republiky – Václavské náměstí – Karlovo náměstí – I. P. Pavlova (line 6)
  • Vysočanská – Maniny – Vltavská – Václavské náměstí (line 14)
  • Sídliště Barrandov – I. P. Pavlova (line 4)
  • Kotlářka – Anděl – Palackého náměstí – Nádraží Braník – Sídliště Modřany (line 21)
  • Nádraží Braník – Karlovo náměstí – Národní třída (line 2)
  • Divoká Šárka – Červený Vrch – Dejvická – Anděl (line 20)
  • Kotlářka – Anděl – Malostranské náměstí – Dlouhá třída – Nám. Republiky – Hlavní nádraží (line 15)
