2016 is the year of Brno!

People living outside of the Czech Republic usually tend to think that Prague and the Czech Republic are synonyms and they often forget (or are completely uninformed) that there are other interesting and worthy to visit cities within the country. There has always been some kind of unofficial competition between the two biggest Czech cities – Prague and Brno, as the second largest city has a lot to offer also not only to the tourists but also to the expats who have decided to relocate in the country, but it has always been pushed into the background.

  2. 1) current cost of living way too expensive for the (low) salaries over there,and they are not getting increased;
    2) too many foreigners = worse economic conditions for who is willing to go live&work there;
    3) social system is one of the worst of the former eastern block;
    4) for westeners Brno is good,yes…for holidays when you are getting your salary in €,GBP or USD and you are spending over there in czech crowns;
    for all the rest,there is less than 1/4 of the population which can afford good (western) living standards.
